Bravo is successful despite its modest turnover, and interestingly – the Honorary President of the Šiskarji is the 13th richest Slovenian!

Yesterday we already reported, that this year, for the first time, a football player – Jan Oblak – appeared on the 100 richest Slovenians list, which is published annually by the newspaper Finance. We also mentioned two former presidents of top-tier clubs, Joco Pečečnik (Interblock) and Izeta Rastoderja (Olimpija), but – to be honest – we did an injustice to a businessman who has probably been involved in Slovenian football for over 30 years in one way or another. Darko Martin Klarič, together with his son Tilnom, is currently in a high 13th place on the list of the richest Slovenians, with an estimated combined wealth of 189 million euros.

Darko Martin Klarič built his fortune primarily through the company Media Publikom, which deals with the purchase of advertising space in the media, and today, together with his son, he also controls the business group Adventura Investments, which oversees more than 20 companies. Part of Adventura Investments is, among other things, the well-known transport company Nomago.

Now Bravo, but first actually Celje

Anyway, Darko Martin Klarič is not only a successful businessman but also a football enthusiast who has been present in Slovenian football practically since the country’s independence. Initially, he helped the club from Celje, which for a time carried the name of his company – Publikum. Klarič spent 15 years in the town, fulfilling both presidential and managerial roles. Later, he shifted his focus to Ljubljana and in 2006 founded Bravo. What began 18 years ago in a rather modest way, with no big expectations, is today truly a success story.

Bravo has transformed into one of the most stable and organized Slovenian football teams, which this year was rewarded for its good performances with a debut appearance in Europe. None of this would have likely happened if the club from Šiška hadn’t been supported all this time by Darko Martin Klarič, who was initially the club’s president and has now passed the reins of Bravo to others. He has retained the position of honorary president of the club.

Despite his considerable wealth, Darko Martin Klarič is known as one of those businessmen who are very reluctant to waste money. This is also the case with Bravo, which perhaps became what it is precisely because of that. If “football leeches,” who unfortunately are everywhere, had sensed easy money, it is clear what could have happened… As a result, Bravo remained an almost family club, where roles are carefully divided, and those filling them have been part of the club for years. Well, when you have the thirteenth richest Slovenian by your side, it is – of course – much easier…
