Dušan Kosić is satisfied with the work Domžale have done during the preparations: “Our image on the pitch is very decent”

Domžale also took advantage of the winter break to make a jump to Novigrad. Since their arrival in Istria, the yellow family has played 4 matches, resulting in one defeat, one draw, and two victories. They lost to Slask, drew with Leoben, and defeated Rukh Lviv and Javor. They still have a match against Hartberg on Saturday. The head coach, Dušan Kosić, provided a statement about the preparations and the atmosphere in the team for the club’s Facebook.

Dušan Kosić first addressed the atmosphere in the team: “At first glance, I would say there is a big difference. As a coach, you also expect that what players professionally show on the field – discipline and reliability – you also expect in their behavior off the field, and here we have the opportunity to get to know the guys a bit, how they operate outside the football field. I have to commend them. We have agreed on some rules of behavior, which is normal for preparations, and so far there have been no complaints from me or the coaching staff. I expect it to stay that way. To keep things from getting too serious, we also take care of some moments of humor among ourselves.”

Dušan Kosić: “No one outplayed us”

Dušan Kosić also commented on the game in the preparatory matches played so far: “We talked with the guys about stability. It takes some time to get to know each other and establish some rules. My desire is that the rules are not only from the coaching staff or club management but that the guys internalize the laws of behavior and play, which differ from coach to coach. We have managed to show a decent picture of the game lately. The team is very young, and the guys are trying their best. I already know that there is no one who does not want to look good and perform well, but we need cohesion and relaxation so that this quality, which we certainly have, comes to the fore. In our league, all matches, even in training when they play against each other, have nuances that decide. We deal with this, and the guys know that it is good for them and also for the club in the end if we work together harmoniously. We always try to be positive, also in the sense of praising well-done work. I believe that this is necessary. The guys know they have support, but on the other hand, it is sometimes difficult when you feel that it is not immediate and now. Our image on the field was very decent. We had a lot of discipline. None of the opponents outplayed us. We had our moments, but there was no such result success that we deserved and earned. We need to make a shift from the first part of the season. In matches that are close, we need to take advantage of what we earn and be more successful in results.”

Finally, Dušan Kosić also touched on Danijel Šturm, who recently played for the Slovenian B national team: “As soon as I watched Daniel’s performance against America, I marked it as very successful. When he returned to training with us, I said that it should be a textbook for players playing in that position. All praise to him. We also charged Dani that it would be good if he approached that level in every match.”
