Radomljanke practiced for the first time under the guidance of Matej Rožič Mavrič: “Let the work be visible on the field, not in words”

The senior team of ŽNK Radomlje Medex has started preparations for the new season after the summer break. The training of the yellow-hearted team at Športni park Radomlje was led for the first time by the new coach, former Slovenian representative Matej Rožič Mavrič.

“The first impression is good, the girls are very engaged. The impression that says a lot is that the team has potential, but we have a lot of work ahead of us. Our results or work should be visible on the field, not in words,” said Matej Rožič Mavrič after the first training session as the coach of ŽNK Radomlje Medex. He currently also works as a coach in the staff of the Slovenian women’s national team. The assistant coach is Katarina Jagarinec, while Bor Žnidaršič is responsible for working with goalkeepers.

The 45-year-old Primorec initially addressed the team in the Cultural Center Radomlje, and then moved with his players to the Športni park Radomlje. It will be the central home of the yellow-hearted team until the end of August, when the national championship will begin. The Radomljanke have not yet trained in full squad. The team will conduct preparations in their home environment, but will travel abroad for international friendly matches. The schedule of summer matches will be revealed by the club in the coming days, as well as new additions to the team.

The challenging matches will serve as good preparation for the upcoming competitive tests: “These are matches from which we can only learn. In the first phase, it will be important to build the necessary fitness and implement tactical ideas. The opponents are tough, but with the aim of preparing the girls to be ready for the demanding matches awaiting us in the championship.”
