The sixth round of the 1st Slovenian Futsal League will feature a unique moment: the brothers as coaching rivals for the first time

Today, the sixth round of the Slovenian Futsal League (1. SFL) will take place, with matches in Rogaška Slatina, Zagorje ob Savi, Sevnica, Sodražica, and Dobrepolje. All matches will start at 8:00 PM, except for the match in Dobrepolje, which is scheduled for 8:30 PM.

First up is a clash between the leading team FK Dobovec and the revitalized KMN Bronx Škofije, currently in an excellent third place. The match is special as it features a brotherly duel between coaches Rok and Alen Mordej. Dobovec, undefeated this season, will do everything to maintain their streak, while the Primorci will try to break their winning run. Dobovec will be without the suspended Matej Fideršek, who will miss the match. Before the game, we spoke with Rok Mordej, coach of Dobovec: “It’s the derby of the round, as the 1st and 3rd teams on the table face off. We respect the Bronx team, but at home in Rogaška, we always aim for all three points against any team. Despite Fideršek’s absence, we’ll do everything to keep the win at home.”

On the other side, Alen Mordej knows what awaits him: “We know we’re facing the toughest match of the season. Dobovec is still considered the best team in Slovenia, especially because they rarely drop points at home. They are, of course, the big favorites, but we certainly won’t give up without a fight. We’ll go to Rogaška without pressure, and we’ll see what the result brings.”

The match will be particularly interesting, as the brothers face each other. Alen hopes that his coaching career will take a different turn this time: “This is the first time we’ll face each other as coaches. As a player, Rok was always better than me and regularly beat me, except in a few tournaments. I hope that the story will be different in our coaching careers.”

In Zagorje ob Savi, the home team ŠD Mlinše will face the current Super Cup champions Siliko Vrhnika. The Vrhničani, led by Milivoj Simeunović, are also unbeaten and want to stay at the top of the league alongside Dobovec. Despite this, there is a positive atmosphere at Mlinše, as coach Gregor Ceglar emphasizes that this will be an excellent test for the home team: “We’re looking forward to the upcoming match. Siliko has been at the top of Slovenian futsal for the past few years, and it will be a great test for our team to see where we stand compared to the top teams. We know we like to play as the underdog, and it will be the same this time! Energy, attitude… Everything starts and ends in defense, and we have to be right there. I invite all futsal fans to the match. I know it will be a great game, full of energy!”

The last-placed team KMN Sevnica, still without a win, will host Kix Ajdovščina. Kix enters the match with confidence after a victory over Mlinše in the previous round. Today, we can expect another intense battle for points. The team THE Nutrition Extrem, who finished fourth last season but has yet to win this season, will host the newcomers to the first league, FC Trzin Mobi Arena, who are one place higher on the table.

The final match of the day will be between FK Dobrepolje and KMN Oplast Kobarid, starting half an hour later. The team from Kobarid comes off a victory over Extrem and currently has the league’s top scorer, Tilen Leban (alongside Aljaž Goznik). A win for either team could significantly impact the standings. In the sixth round, PJ Joco Benedikt will be free.
