Two completely different images of former top league teams: Tabor scored five goals, Aluminij lost for the second consecutive time in the 2. SNL

Saturday in the 2. SNL offered us four matches. The former first division team Aluminij played near the Italian border, Tabor hosted Ilirija at home, the sky-blue team from Dekani faced Tolmin, and Slovan was hunting for their first victory against Rudar from Velenje.

Aluminij, after being relegated from the Prva liga Telemach, is certainly eager to return to the elite, but for that to happen, the team from Kidričevo must avoid unnecessarily dropping points. Unfortunately, they did just that this time. Bilje has shown enough in three rounds to secure six points, and they started the match against Aluminij well. The black-and-white home team scored in the 26th minute and didn’t allow Aluminij much space, at least not until the start of the second half. Kidričani tried to equalize quickly, but the hosts managed to double their lead in the 56th minute, which was enough for three points. For Bilje, who also missed a penalty, the goals were scored by Dominik Solić and Thomas Breganti.

Tabor Currently in First Place

Tabor continues to dominate. In the season’s opening match, the Sežana team lost the derby against Dekani, but it seems that this was a warning for them to push harder. They won their next match against Dravinja 4-1, followed by a 2-1 victory away against Aluminij, and today they scored 5 goals against Ljubljana’s Ilirija. Although they conceded two goals, this did not spoil the good mood after the big win. The goals for the Primorska team were scored by Dino Stančič (twice), Gabrielle De Nuzzo, Federico Rose, and Nik Fortuna. Both goals for Ilirija were scored by Gibson Okocha. Tabor is currently at the top with nine points, the same as Bilje, though they have played one more match.

It seemed that Tolmin, after their victory over Krka, would gain even more momentum, just like on that match when Brazilian Almeida flew practically across the whole pitch. However, Jani Šturm’s team did not manage to record a new victory today. In fact, they lost by a narrow margin against Dekani, who, despite receiving a red card in the final minutes, showed character, calmly brought the match to an end, and celebrated their second victory in four matches. The only goal of the match was scored by Marko Josip Čavara in the 29th minute.

Slovan hoped that Rudar’s crisis would continue. Velenje‘s team parted ways with Simon Sešlar after three league matches, as he managed to earn only one point, which was evidently not enough to keep him on the bench. However, Rudar appeared at Kodeljevo in a somewhat better light than before. They scored in the 57th minute to take the lead, which they tried to hold until the end, but the newly promoted second division team did not give up. Ljubljana managed to equalize in the 71st minute, and the match ended with that result. Rudar’s goal was scored by Shakeone Satchwell, while Tian Pantelić scored for Slovan.
